Aluminium wire and cable we buy in Oklahoma
Aluminium wire is lighter, cheaper to move and far more common in Oklahoma than sellers expect — especially in service entrance, underground distribution and long feeder runs where copper is not the practical choice.
Most aluminium surplus shows up as SER and SEU service cable, URD and USE-2 underground cable, and XHHW or THHN aluminium feeder. It is usually left in partial coils after a subdivision phase, a service upgrade or a panel change.
The material is genuinely useful, but it needs to be described accurately: aluminium conductor, alloy type where known, insulation class, and whether the cable has been buried or stored outdoors. Oxidation and water ingress change what we can do with a coil.

What to send with the request
- Whether the conductor is aluminium or copper-clad aluminium.
- The insulation type and whether the cable is rated for direct burial.
- How the coil has been stored — indoors, on a rack, or on the ground outdoors.
- Whether the cable has been buried, and for how long.
Not sure of the type?
Send a photo of the jacket print anyway. Reading a wire label is the one thing we do all day, and it is faster than guessing.

Aluminium wire: seller questions
Is aluminium wire worth selling?
Yes, when it is identifiable and in usable condition. Value depends on size, insulation, construction and condition, so a photo of the jacket print matters more than a weight guess.
Do you buy buried URD that has been pulled out?
Sometimes. Cable that has been in the ground carries soil, moisture and possible jacket damage. Describe how it was removed and we will tell you whether it is worth collecting.
Adjacent wire types we also buy
Service entrance and underground feeder cable is the most common residential and light commercial surplus in Oklahoma, and it is almost always left in partial coils that nobody wants to store.
Copper is the part of a surplus wire load that is easiest to identify and hardest to fake. If the reel says copper, the value is in the conductor, the insulation and the footage left on the reel.
Single-conductor building wire is the backbone of every electrical surplus load in the state. It is also the easiest category to quote precisely, because the jacket tells you almost everything.
