Medium and high voltage cable we buy in Oklahoma
Above 5 kV, cable stops being a commodity and becomes a specified assembly: conductor, semicon layers, insulation, shield and jacket all have to match. That is precisely why this category rewards a specialist buyer.
Medium voltage cable from 5 kV through 35 kV is typically shielded, with EPR or XLPE insulation, a metallic tape or wire shield and, in distribution work, a concentric neutral. High voltage cable at 69 kV and above is more specialised again, and condition and documentation matter more than length.
We buy surplus and cancelled-project MV and HV cable from utilities, industrial plants, refineries, data centres and electrical contractors across Oklahoma, on full reels and partial reels.
What we buy in this category
- 5 kV, 8 kV, 15 kV, 25 kV and 35 kV cable
- 69 kV and above
- EPR insulated cable
- XLPE insulated cable
- Concentric neutral cable
- Shielded and unshielded constructions
- Copper and aluminium conductor
Specifications at a glance

| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Voltage classes | 5 kV, 8 kV, 15 kV, 25 kV, 35 kV, 69 kV and above |
| Insulation | EPR (ethylene propylene rubber) or XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) |
| Shield | Copper tape, wire shield, concentric neutral |
| Formats | Full reels and partial reels; cut lengths assessed case by case |
| Condition | New surplus and cancelled-project cable strongly preferred |
What to send with the request
- Voltage class and insulation type from the reel label.
- Shield construction and whether a concentric neutral is present.
- Conductor size in MCM or AWG, and copper or aluminium.
- Reel diameter, weight estimate and how the reel has been stored — MV cable does not like UV or water ingress.
Not sure of the type?
Send a photo of the jacket print anyway. Reading a wire label is the one thing we do all day, and it is faster than guessing.

Medium and high voltage: seller questions
Do you buy 15 kV and 25 kV reels?
Yes, including EPR and XLPE constructions with tape shields or concentric neutrals. Voltage class, insulation and storage history are the key facts.
Can you take partially used MV reels?
Partial reels are considered, but remaining length matters more at these ratings. Give us the footage and how the end has been sealed.
Adjacent wire types we also buy
Single-conductor building wire is the backbone of every electrical surplus load in the state. It is also the easiest category to quote precisely, because the jacket tells you almost everything.
Armoured and tray-rated cable is where commercial and industrial surplus overlaps: the same job can leave behind coils of MC for a retail fit-out and reels of TC-ER for a plant expansion.
How wire is wound tells you almost as much as what the wire is. A factory-sealed reel, a half-used wooden reel and a hand-coiled bundle are three different conversations.
