Full reels, partial reels, spools and coils
How wire is wound tells you almost as much as what the wire is. A factory-sealed reel, a half-used wooden reel and a hand-coiled bundle are three different conversations.
Full reels are the easiest: the label is intact, the footage is known and the material has not been handled. Partial reels are the most common commercial surplus, and they are worth quoting as long as the remaining footage is roughly known. Spools and coils suit smaller gauges and flexible cable, and boxed stock is usually building wire or low voltage cable bought by the carton.
We buy all of them. Wooden reels, plastic spools, cardboard cores and hand-coiled bundles are all acceptable formats, and a mixed pallet is fine as long as the contents can be identified.

What to send with the request
- A photo of each distinct reel label rather than every identical reel.
- Counts by type, not a single total.
- Whether reels are palletised, banded or loose.
- Reel diameters, since oversize reels change the truck.
Not sure of the type?
Send a photo of the jacket print anyway. Reading a wire label is the one thing we do all day, and it is faster than guessing.

Reels, spools and coils: seller questions
Do you buy mixed pallets of wire?
Yes, if the contents can be identified. A photo of each distinct label plus a count by type is usually enough to start.
Do you take the empty reels too?
Our scope is wire and cable, not reel disposal. Wire on the reel is what we buy.
Adjacent wire types we also buy
Copper is the part of a surplus wire load that is easiest to identify and hardest to fake. If the reel says copper, the value is in the conductor, the insulation and the footage left on the reel.
Single-conductor building wire is the backbone of every electrical surplus load in the state. It is also the easiest category to quote precisely, because the jacket tells you almost everything.
Service entrance and underground feeder cable is the most common residential and light commercial surplus in Oklahoma, and it is almost always left in partial coils that nobody wants to store.
