SER, SEU, URD and USE-2 cable we buy in Oklahoma
Service entrance and underground feeder cable is the most common residential and light commercial surplus in Oklahoma, and it is almost always left in partial coils that nobody wants to store.
SER is a round service entrance cable with a bare ground; SEU is the flat construction with a concentric neutral. URD is underground residential distribution cable, typically XLPE or HMWPE insulated and direct-burial rated. USE-2 is underground service entrance cable rated for wet locations and direct burial.
We buy all four in copper and aluminium, from #6 through 4/0 and larger, on full coils, partial coils and cut lengths. Tell us whether the cable has actually been buried, because that changes the condition assessment.

What to send with the request
- Conductor count and whether a ground or neutral is included.
- Copper or aluminium, and the exact size from the jacket print.
- Coil length and whether the factory wrap is intact.
- Whether the cable has been buried, and how it was pulled.
Not sure of the type?
Send a photo of the jacket print anyway. Reading a wire label is the one thing we do all day, and it is faster than guessing.

SER, SEU, URD and USE-2: seller questions
Do you buy SER with a few feet left on the coil?
Yes, if the remaining length is usable and identifiable. Short coils are common after a service upgrade, and they are worth listing rather than throwing out.
What about URD that came out of the ground?
It is assessed case by case. Soil, moisture and jacket damage all matter, so describe how it was removed and how it has been stored since.
Adjacent wire types we also buy
Aluminium wire is lighter, cheaper to move and far more common in Oklahoma than sellers expect — especially in service entrance, underground distribution and long feeder runs where copper is not the practical choice.
Copper is the part of a surplus wire load that is easiest to identify and hardest to fake. If the reel says copper, the value is in the conductor, the insulation and the footage left on the reel.
How wire is wound tells you almost as much as what the wire is. A factory-sealed reel, a half-used wooden reel and a hand-coiled bundle are three different conversations.
