Buying THHN, THWN and XHHW reels in Oklahoma
Single-conductor building wire is the backbone of every electrical surplus load in the state. It is also the easiest category to quote precisely, because the jacket tells you almost everything.
THHN and THWN are thermoplastic, nylon-jacketed wire rated 600 V, with THWN-2 adding wet-location and higher temperature capability. XHHW and XHHW-2 use a thermoset insulation that behaves differently in wet and high-heat environments. The distinctions matter to a buyer because they decide where the wire can be reinstalled.
We buy all of them on full reels, partial reels, spools and in boxed or carton stock, in every colour, in copper and aluminium, from #14 through 1000 MCM.

What to send with the request
- Type print from the jacket, including any -2 suffix.
- Size and conductor metal, plus solid or stranded.
- Colour, because mixed colour sets are easier to place than single odd colours.
- Remaining footage per reel, from the label or a tape measure.
Not sure of the type?
Send a photo of the jacket print anyway. Reading a wire label is the one thing we do all day, and it is faster than guessing.

THHN, THWN and XHHW: seller questions
Do you buy partial reels of THHN?
Yes, routinely. A reel with a few hundred feet left is a normal request. Tell us the size, colour and roughly how much remains.
What is the difference between THHN and XHHW for resale?
THHN and THWN are thermoplastic with a nylon jacket; XHHW is thermoset. The -2 suffixes indicate wet-location and higher temperature ratings. Buyers care because the rating decides where the wire can be installed again.
Adjacent wire types we also buy
Copper is the part of a surplus wire load that is easiest to identify and hardest to fake. If the reel says copper, the value is in the conductor, the insulation and the footage left on the reel.
Aluminium wire is lighter, cheaper to move and far more common in Oklahoma than sellers expect — especially in service entrance, underground distribution and long feeder runs where copper is not the practical choice.
Armoured and tray-rated cable is where commercial and industrial surplus overlaps: the same job can leave behind coils of MC for a retail fit-out and reels of TC-ER for a plant expansion.
